It’s a dreary rainy day here in Savannah, but my mind is fixated on the light and bright. We’ve been planning a kitchen renovation in our new home and I am strung out on the details at the moment.
Overall the cop and I agree on the aesthetic we want in the kitchen: white, bright, classic, casual. But when it comes to certain details the choices have been overwhelming! So far we’ve selected our cabinets, counters, hardware, lighting and flooring. Next to come is the backsplash and we’ll be almost there!
While I putter over the details I wanted to share with you some of the inspiration we used to design the overall aesthetic of our new kitchen. We’re thinking white shaker cabinets, white tile backsplash, grey counters, a grey washed oak floor and matte black hardware. I want a kitchen that will appeal to buyer’s tastes if we need to sell in the next few years, but also feels as though it was made for us. Overall we want comfortable. Casual and lived in is the general feel for this house, and our white kitchen should be no different.
